This Privacy Policy explains what personal information is collected when you visit marina.studio, how that information is used, and the choices you have. The site is operated by Marina Welford Website Design & Development Services, which does business as Marina STUDIO ("we", "us"), from Ontario, Canada. We keep data collection to a minimum. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Information we collect
We collect:
- Information you send us through the contact form — your name, email address, and the contents of your message — so that we can respond to your enquiry.
- Analytics information about how visitors use the site, collected automatically (see Analytics and cookies below).
- Standard server information that our hosting provider may log, such as your IP address and browser type, for security and reliability purposes.
Contact form
When you submit the contact form, it is processed by a script hosted on our own server, which sends your message to us by email at hello@marina.studio and then redirects you to a confirmation page. We receive the name, email address, subject, and message you provide. Submissions are delivered by email and are not stored in a separate database; we keep them within our email records only as long as needed to respond to you and for a reasonable period afterward. No third-party form service is involved.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors find and use the site so that we can improve it. Google Analytics sets cookies (for example, _ga and _ga_*) and collects information such as the pages you view, your approximate location (derived from your IP address, which Google Analytics does not store in full), your device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. These analytics cookies are set only if you accept them. When you first visit, analytics is switched off by default and we ask for your choice through a cookie banner; nothing is collected until you accept. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the site footer. You may also install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or block or clear cookies in your browser settings.
To remember your choice so we don't ask again on every visit, we store it locally in your browser. This record is strictly necessary to honour your decision and is not used to track you.
These analytics cookies are the only cookies this site sets. We do not use advertising or social-media tracking cookies.
Google Fonts
This site loads the Inter typeface from Google Fonts. When your browser requests these font files, your IP address is shared with Google as part of that request.
How we use your information

Legal bases (for visitors in the EEA and UK)
Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, we rely on the following legal bases: your consent for analytics cookies, which you give through our cookie banner and can withdraw at any time via the "Cookie settings" link; and our legitimate interest (or steps taken at your request before entering into a contract) when responding to an enquiry you send us.
Who we share information with
We share information only with the service providers that help us operate the site: Google (analytics and fonts) and our website hosting and email provider. These providers process data on our behalf. Some providers, including Google, are based in the United States, so your information may be processed outside your own country, including outside the EEA, UK, and Canada.
How long we keep information
Contact-form messages are kept for as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable period afterward for our records. Analytics data is retained according to the retention period set within Google Analytics. Server logs are kept in line with our hosting provider's standard practice.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict how we use it, to withdraw consent, and to request a copy of the data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@marina.studio.

Children's privacy
This site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
